ROK Cup Philippines Round 2

Antonio Racelis at ROK Cup Philippines Round 2

I competed in Round 2 of the ROK GP Cup Philippine Series at Carmona Racing Track with a brand-new Praga chassis that had just arrived from Italy. The BRacing Development worked quickly to assemble it in time for official practice, but the weekend began with an unexpected challenge.

During the Time Trial, my kart experienced a fuel surge problem that caused it to lose power in two sections of the track. As a result, I recorded the slowest time and started both qualifying heats from the back of the grid.

In Qualifying Heat 1, I stayed focused and began working my way through the field. After gaining several positions, I moved into 3rd, then used the slipstream to overtake for 2nd and eventually take the lead with two laps remaining. I held on to win the heat, going from last to 1st place.

Heat 2 was another close battle. Despite a difficult start, I continued overtaking and moved up to 3rd. I briefly gained 2nd place with two laps remaining, but my competitor fought back, leading to an intense battle all the way to the finish.

I crossed the line in 3rd place, making it a memorable comeback weekend. It taught me that even when a race starts with a major setback, staying focused, patient, and determined can help me fight my way back.
